The Office
of Health Informatics (OHI) at Texas A&M University
has over 40 combined years of expertise in the
design, implementation, and evaluation of health
education distance education-related programs and
other health communication activities, and can
assist your organization on a consultative basis for
the following activities:

return-on-investment (ROI) calculations for
distance education programs;

using a proven systematic and contextual

Background
and Experience
The staff
of the Office of Health Informatics in the
Department of Health and Kinesiology at Texas A&M
University has developed masters level programs in
health education; created a series of undergraduate
distance education courses; developed interactive
websites related to worksite health promotion,
advocacy, and distance education; administers the
development and delivery of masters level courses
for a national professional association; and
publishes a quality journal related to health
education and health promotion. Other
accomplishments of OHI are listed below.

The
OHI has developed seven undergraduate and six
graduate distance
education courses which have instructed over
9,200 students and generated approximately $12
million of revenue.

OHI
staff designed, marketed, and delivered the
Distance Education Masters of Arts Program in
Health Education while at The University of
Alabama. This program has had over 300
graduates and generated millions of dollars for
the university and the Department of Health
Science.

The
OHI provides administrative and course design
support for the Health Education and Promotion (HEP)
Network, a joint venture of the American
Association for Health Education, the
Foundation for the Advancement of Health
Education, and other corporate and
university partners. The HEP Network provides a
menu of high quality courses that students can
complete for undergraduate or graduate credits
and continuing education credits.

The
OHI edit, administers and distributes the
American Journal of Health Studies, a
quality peer reviewed journal for health
education and health promotion professionals.

OHI
developed Working Well: A Blueprint for
Success for the American Cancer Society -
Mid-South Division. Working Well is an
interactive website to lead worksite
decision-makers through the process to plan,
implement, and evaluate effective worksite
health promotion and disease prevention
programs.

The
OHI designed and developed the Health
Education Advocate (HEA). The HEA
is an
interactive website that provides a central,
timely source of advocacy information related to
the field of health education and health
promotion.
